LOCATION: Droitwich and Stourbridge, Worcestershire
JOB TITLE: Residential Support Worker
SALARY & BENEFITS: £7.50 - £8.00 per hour depending on qualifications
WORKING HOURS: Full and part-time shifts. Shifts 07:00-15:00 / 14:30-22:30 - rota basis including weekends.
THE COMPANY: Our client is a long established provider of high quality residential care for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs centred around the autistic spectrum.
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has now arisen for Residential Support Workers to join the team where full training will be given to those with the right qualities and passion for the role.
THE ROLE: The role of Residential Support Worker is to assist each individual with day to day living to be able to live a fulfilled life. Support is required in all aspects of their lives including attending appointments and general daily duties including personal and intimate care. Positions are available at both Stourbridge and Droitwich.
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for this role will have strong effective communication skills with a good command of the English language as it is essential to communicate with service-users. Our client believes that the best Residential Support Workers are the ones with the right attitude and values to do the job. This means that even if you don't have any experience of this kind of work our client will provide all the training and support you need.
They require someone who is person centred in supporting the individuals to achieve a high quality of life and encourage them to attain their goals and wishes.
Key experience essential for the Residential Support Worker role:
• Previous experience within a similar role will be advantageous but not essential
• Previous experience with autism is desirable
• Understanding, caring and sensitivity to the needs of others
• Good level of verbal and written English
• NVQ 2/3 qualifications in Care is desirable
• Live within a commutable distance of Stourbridge or Droitwich.
