Environment Manager Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 plus 15% flexible benefit fund Location: Manchester, Hemel Hempstead or Birmingham Role overview Sopra Steria are looking to recruit a UK Environment Manager to be responsible for day to day operation and management of Sopra Steria Environment activities. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of Environment Management processes and procedures across an number of ISO14001 sites, ensuring we remain compliant with all relevant company and statutory obligations relating to environment conservation health and safety. This role will have you travelling throughout the UK, visiting multiple sites and working with a whole range of internal and external stakeholders. Not only will this role be very hands on, we want you to be operating at a strategic level, assisting on Bids and advising Senior Management at UK and Group level on best practice. If you have an interest in Energy Management or experience working as part of a facilities team this would be a huge benefit. Essential skills Must have proven experience as an Environment Manager Must be fully conversant on ISO, good knowledge of ISO14064 and working knowledge of ISO9001 Previous experience as an Internal Auditor is highly desired Experience of planning and implementing an Environmental Management System Experience in the preparation and upkeep of an Emergency Preparedness Plan Experience of building maintenance/managing contractors consistent with relevant legislation, industry best practice and Company policy Experience of negotiating with service providers/liaising with customers to provide viable options Knowledge of environmental, H&S and fire legislation, and application within the workplace Willing to travel extensively throughout the UK Desirable skills Nice to know about Mazars, CDP, ESOS, CRC An interest in Energy Management at a strategic Knowledge of accounting processes Experience of budget preparation Experience of monitoring, controlling and forecasting budgets Security clearance The successful applicant will be required to achieve SC level clearance.
